In my role on the Anderson University Student Involvement team, I designed all print and digital materials, promotional and social media content, email communications, and other miscellaneous items for the university’s First Year Experience and New Student Orientation programs.

FIRST YEAR EXPERIENCE

The First Year Experience (FYE) program is designed to provide support, encouragement, and guidance as freshmen enter their first year at Anderson University. Freshmen are in a small group with other new students (Alpha Group) led by an upperclassmen student leader (Alpha Leader) that provides them both academic and social support and resources to help them feel connected to their new home.

I worked to develop a new visual identity for the First Year Experience program that intends to reflect the joyful, energetic, and welcoming nature that marks the beginning of a student’s journey at Anderson. The rebrand focuses on playful typography, bright colors, and illustrations that create an engaging and distinctive tone for this dynamic department, its programming, and its student leaders.

All print and digital content designed for FYE is intended to encourage involvement and connection with the program and the campus community.

NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION

Base Camp Orientation provides incoming students and their guests with valuable information that will prepare them for their first year of college as well as creates a space for them to begin forming connections on campus. I had the opportunity to work within existing brand standards and lead the refinement in which the brand was applied in order to develop a more consistent and elevated experience for students and guests.

With an orientation program welcoming over 1,000 students and their guests to campus, the design of print and digital materials play a significant role in ensuring a positive, clear, and refined experience for each individual as they navigate throughout the events of the day. Working with the Director of Student Involvement as well as communicating with many different departments and faculty members across campus, I worked to communicate large amounts of information in a clear and engaging manner.
